As a kid, I always took photos of detail and left landscape to my parents. I'd take photos of the fish counter in Geant Casino nr St Tropez or the veg market look of Tesco in Maidstone. Pigeons in a tree from underneath (carefully), photos of a fruit stall in Oxford Street, a close up of one of the columns above Selfridges, old-fashioned shop signs and tiled mosaics. Door knockers and door knobs, advertisements, flowers, buses and trains. So I apologise not for the dearth of seagulls and sea here. A seaside town is still a town.
