Timperley's Early rhubarb, bought in Bexhill-on-Sea merely for the architectural leaves. One plant provides rhubarb for the mothers and my husband gets rhubarb crumble with custard. It faces East, never gets fed, just an occasional spade or so of blended farm manure. My experience of rhubarb, is that it needs some shade as in hot sun it faints. Amazingly, a bucket of water in the coolness of evening is as good as Viagra in a couple of hours but it's best to site it in the correct position rather than move it later.
