The fennel was bought from an independent nursery in Staplecross, E Sussex run by a nice man called Ed. My mother always refers to the nursery as Ed's but it may have another name. The fennel quickly outgrew its' pot and now resides in the fig bed. I lurve fennel so have three. They are great as architectural plants if you have the space to let them grow. I believe the Latin name is
foeniculum vulgare. The pot holder came from Lakeland
http://www.lakeland.co.uk and the paint is leftover Crown Period Colours emulsion 'Croquet'.
